I’d like to introduce you to Wilma. She loves to frolic in the woods near Woodland Whimsy. She has a smile and a happy thought for everyone she meets.

It has been very close to a year since my last post. My life has changed drastically since then. For three months, the move consumed all of my attention. We arrived at our new home, I started a more traditional job at the local library, and we started to get settled into our new life. Then my mother in law, who was also a very dear friend, was diagnosed with stage four cancer throughout many of her organs. Everything else that didn’t absolutely have to happen stopped. We were so blessed to be able to be here and be with her through her last days. I cannot recommend Hospice Care enough, should you ever have need of their services. We are working hard to find our new normal. I have finally started working on creating new creatures to inhabit Woodland Whimsy. A huge thank you to all of you who are still here and haven’t given up completely on me.

Happy Friday!! Is there something exciting going on in your world right now? We here at Woodland Whimsy are looking forward to relocating. We will be moving north, to a land of big trees, big water, and awesome fungus.
This handsome couple was spotted in the dormant huckleberry patch below my in laws’ house. I love how they look like they are taking a little stroll in the woods.

Happy Friday the 13th! Do you worry that today is an unlucky day? Do you think it is a lucky day? Do you not care either way? How ever you feel about today, I hope that you enjoy today’s fungus.
I think this guy had to work pretty hard to push himself up through the mulch that coats the forest floor.

Happy Friday! Today is also Tiara Day, so if you have one, get it out and wear it. My husband took today off so we can spend the day together. So I am going to have a fantastic day! I hope that you are as well.
Cute little mushrooms growing up on a fallen tree. These were spotted on our hike to the cabin where my in laws honey mooned last October. It was really neat to see the cabin and all the repairs that had been made over the summer. It was while our grandsons were staying with us. We packed them in.
They aren’t the best pictures, as they were taken while we were actually moving, but the boys had a blast on the hike.

A new creature has appeared from the lake here at Woodland Whimsy. She is cute as can be.
Initially, she was very shy and tried to hide. With a bit of patience, she soon decided that we were all right to talk to.
“Hi, my name is Betty. I am a squoozle. There are a lot of us living in the lake, but we are all shy.” I assured Betty that it was safe for her friends if they wanted to come out.
“I will take to them and see what they say. I’m not sure that they are ready to meet new being though.” confided Betty. Then she headed back down toward the lake and into the water. I hope that we all get a chance to meet some more squoozles. Betty was a very charming creature.

Happy Friday!! I have a very busy day planned today, but my weekend is looking pretty quiet. I’m hoping to get some more work done on the works in progress that I showed you earlier in the week. I have one of them almost finished.
These little shelf fungi were tucked on the lower side of a fallen log. They look ready for a fairy musical group to come and use them for a stage as they play.

I have some items in progress that I thought I would share with you. Hopefully I will be able to show them to you finished by week’s end. None of them have told me their names yet. I sure hope they start speaking soon.
This is my latest boggling. Don’t tell any of the other creatures, but I might like the bogglings the best.
This is a made to order gronk. He was auctioned off for a very good cause a couple of years ago. The person who won just found her paperwork and got in touch with me. He’ll be headed off to his new home soon.
This creature is completely new to Woodland Whimsy. We are anxiously awaiting to see what she will become.
I hope that you enjoyed a quick peek into what I am currently working. Please let me know what you think.

Happy Friday!
Today’s lovely mushrooms were photographed by my best friend, Stacy Ferguson. She saw these beauties while she was hiking amongst the redwoods.
