Happy Friday! I hope that you all have wonderful plans for the weekend, even if it is just hanging out and relaxing.

Isn’t this a sweet little mushroom. It isn’t one of the really tiny ones, but it is pretty small. It is so much fun to find these tiny treasures when I’m out hiking. I can almost see a wee fae perched on the top, gazing at the moon.

It is supposed to be a bit warmer here at Woodland Whimsy today. It would be nice if all the ice could melt away before our next storm. Last week we had freezing fog for several days. I love it as long as I don’t have to go out drive. Fog at 12 degrees Fahrenheit is just ice crystals in the air. It coats everything creating a beautiful fairy winter wonderland. Here are some of the photos I took last week. I hope that you enjoy them.

Hello Lovely Readers! This is the last weekend of my holidays. It is the weekend I go hang out with some of my girlfriends every year. Next week I should be back to posting a bit more regularly.

This mushroom is quite large. It has a lovely orange hue to it. I can see the pixies using it as a dance floor for their night time frolicking.

I’d like to introduce you to Michelle Mushroom.

Michelle

Michelle Mushroom

Michelle has very traditional fairy tale mushroom coloring, but she is not a traditional girl.

Michelle

Michelle’s nose ring

One day Michelle saw some young human ladies walking in the woods. They had sparkly bits of metal and stones adorning their bodies. Michelle was fascinated. She’d never seen anything like. Beautiful things affixed to their fingers, arms, necks, ears and noses. Most of those things weren’t really workable for Michelle, as mushrooms(even magic ones) don’t have fingers, arms, ears, or any way to keep something hanging around their necks. She does have a fabulous nose though.

A closer look

Michelle gave some thought to how best to decorate her own lovely nose. She had a ladybug friend named Lucy. Lucy was so beautiful and just the right size. Michelle talked to Lucy about her idea. Lucy thought that it would be fun. Now Michelle and Lucy spend almost all of their time together. They both feel more beautiful together than they did  separately.
