I have some items in progress that I thought I would share with you. Hopefully I will be able to show them to you finished by week’s end. None of them have told me their names yet. I sure hope they start speaking soon.

This is my latest boggling. Don’t tell any of the other creatures, but I might like the bogglings the best.

This is a made to order gronk. He was auctioned off for a very good cause a couple of years ago. The person who won just found her paperwork and got in touch with me. He’ll be headed off to his new home soon.

This creature is completely new to Woodland Whimsy. We are anxiously awaiting to see what she will become.

I hope that you enjoyed a quick peek into what I am currently working. Please let me know what you think.

Once upon a time there was a gronk named Gabby. She was happy living at Woodland Whimsy with all the fantastic creatures, but what she really wanted was a home and a special friend all her own.

Gabby Gronk

All of the creatures from Woodland Whimsy go to fairs in hopes of getting adopted. Gabby always made sure that her pig tails were perfect, and that she was happy as she could be when she went. One day, at a wonderful fair near Lake Tahoe, Gabby met a beautiful little girl who was looking for a forever friend. Gabby and the lovely girl felt an instant friendship. Both were very happy to go home together. Gabby and the girl are happy together still and will be so forever after.

My best friend and I went on a long girls weekend of shenanigans. Elvin came a long with us. Not everything we did was shenanigans though. We stayed with some lovely friends on Thursday night. They had an orange tree out back and told us we were welcome to have some oranges.

So many oranges

Elvin scrambled right up the tree to check them out.

“The oranges smell so good!” Elvin exclaimed. “I can’t wait to eat them.”

Time for a ride in the fruit picker.

Elvin hopped into the fruit picker so he could get some of the oranges that were up high.

“This is the perfect orange. I will have it for breakfast.” he declared.

Yummy!

Yummy!

Elvin took a rest in the bag of oranges after we were done picking them. He was so happy to have so much fresh, yummy, fruit.

If you like Elvin, you can see more of my work on my facebook page or my website.

It has been very busy this week at Woodland Whimsy. Everything has been counted and recorded in a new spread sheet. One of our goals for the year is to keep better records. I have been felting away and my husband has made a couple of new pieces to use in our display.

Walter can stand up

If you have ever seen Walter in person, he was always leaning or wrapped around something. He spent his public life looking quite tipsy. No more! Walter has a new stand that lets him show what a sober guy he really is.

Yesterday morning

Yesterday

This photo is from yesterday. Three mushrooms and a tiny terrarium finished. Betty Goblin Baby’s head is almost finished. Poor Betty has been a work in progress for quite some time. She is glad to see that her completion is in sight. See that cute little driftwood bench? My husband made that for me to use in my display at shows.

This morning

This morning

Four more mushrooms completed. Betty has a body and a new gronk(who has also been a work in progress for a while) is getting some work done. It feels good to be busy and productive. I’d best get back to work, Betty would really like to have some arms, legs, and ears.

On Mother’s Day, we traveled over the mountain put up a pen for my mom for her expectant mother goats. Gilbert came along with us. He was not much help with the pen. All he wanted to do was play with the animals. Poor Gilbert. Most of the animals were not all the interested in playing with him.

Ostrich

Ostrich

Gilbert couldn’t get the ostrich’s attention at all. She was completely uninterested in playing with him.

The peachick (baby peacock) wasn’t too sure about hanging out with Gilbert.

Bob the calf

Bob the calf

Gilbert really liked Bob, but Bob wasn’t really interested in hanging out with him either.

Sweet little kid

The kid(baby goat) was happy to cuddle with Gilbert. He was happy to have found a friend. He spent the day trying to get to know so many animals, most of them wouldn’t even let him get close enough to get his picture taken with them. I’m glad he found a friend at last.

Happy Spring! It is windy and pretty cold here at Woodland Whimsy this first morning of spring. Happily, we’ve had a couple of weeks of lovely spring like weather that allowed us to have our barbeque on St. Patrick’s Day. Today we’ll see how it all turned out.

Barbeque Sauce

Barbeque Sauce

The ribs are almost completely done cooking. It’s time for Gilbert to add the barbeque sauce.

Applying the sauce

“It is important to wait until the end so the sauce doesn’t burn.” explained Gilbert.

Veggie Kabobs

Gilbert put the vegetable kabobs on the grill while the barbeque sauce cooked into the meat. “You have to have some balance in your diet. I love vegetables.”

Gilbert helped cut the ribs up for easy serving.

“Look at all the yummy food!” said Gilbert happily.

“This looks really good, but I’m going to want more food than this.” giggled Gilbert.

Full!

Full!

I have to tell you that I couldn’t believe how much Gilbert ate. He didn’t help with clean up, he just fell asleep next to his plate after this photo was taken.

I hope you like Gilbert. You can see more of my work at www.woodlandwhimsy.com it has links to all my other pages.
