Hello, we have had a lot of snow(for us anyway) here at Woodland Whimsy. I don’t think that dragons appreciate the cold the way goblins do.

Milo

Milo

I made Milo go out into the snow to take photos for his adoptive mom. He was not pleased about that at all. Milo is in luck though. He will be headed to sunny Florida today. He was thrilled to hear that it was over 80 degrees where he is going. I am glad to have a happy dragon on his way to a wonderful, warm, new home.

It snowed and snowed at Woodland Whimsy yesterday. The goblins wanted to go out, but I told them they had to wait until today, when it was not actually snowing. They were asking to go out first thing in the morning. It wasn’t even light out yet. It was also 14 degrees. I told them we could go out when it was 25 degrees outside. They were so happy when we reached the designated temperature at about noon. Goblins don’t get cold, but I do. I put on my cold weather clothes and out we went.

Robyn and Ricky

Robyn and Ricky

Robyn and Ricky were so happy to be out in the snow.

Myron and his snow ball.

Myron and his snow ball.

Myron made a snowball right away. I was afraid that he was up to no good.

Oh No!

Oh No!

I was right. Myron hit Fred right on top of his head with the snowball.

Building a snow man

Building a snow man

Robyn and Ricky started to build a snowman. At least some of the goblins were playing nicely together.

Fred's get away

Fred’s get away

Fred climbed up a twig to get away from Myron and his snowballs. I wondered if that would actually keep him safe.

All done

All done

“Look, look! We finished out snowman! Hurry, take a picture of us!” Both Robyn and Ricky were so excited to have made their snowman. He even had a face and arms. They did a great job.

Not safe

Not safe

Poor Fred was not safe. Myron hit him with a snowball and knocked him out of his shrub. I told the goblins that that was enough. It was time to brush the snow off and go in the house for a nice cup of cocoa.

We’ve been having some pretty nice spring weather here at Woodland Whimsy for the last couple of weeks. It never lasts this time of year. We woke up this morning to snow. One of the slerks came out to check the garden with me. The flowers are still looking good and are actually quite pretty in the snow.

Daffodil

Daffodil

Daffodils are so cheerful, even when they are poking up out of the snow. The slerk was playing in the snow and got some on his little ears. Brrr!

Hyacinth

Hyacinth

Teal is not a good color for trying to hide in the snow or the hyacinth.

Hellebore

Hellebore

The hellebore has pushed up its flower stalks. The blooms haven’t fully opened yet, but they are getting close.

Muscari

Muscari

The muscari look beautiful in the snow with their iridescent purple blooms.

Pansy

Pansy

This little pansy is a hold out from last year. It did not get snowed on, as it is under cover in my entry way. I did just push open its first bloom of the season last night, so it deserved a picture as well.
